Using Medications Safely - Taking prescribed drugs
Whatever be your age or condition, you must follow these basic rules while taking your medications/drugs.
- Advise your physician about any over-the-counter drugs you are taking (including any supplements or herbal medicines). This is because nonprescription drugs can cause serious reactions when mixed with prescription drugs.
- Read labels carefully. Know about the potential side effects and dietary restrictions if any.
- Follow instructions carefully as advised by your physician.
- Do not stop taking a prescribed drug as soon as the symptoms are relieved. Take your medication for the entire length of the time prescribed.
- Keep a record of all the medications you are taking on a daily basis and if any allergies caused by them.
- Inform your physician of side effects.
- Have prescriptions filled at one pharmacy. It helps you avoid problems with drug interactions.
- Properly store medications and drugs. Most of them require a dry, secure place at room temperature and some require refrigeration. Keep your medications out of direct sunlight.
- Discard outdated medications/drugs. Never take leftover medicine.
- Keep drugs and medications safely away from the reach of children.
- Keep medicines in their original containers.
- If you have trouble opening a container, seek help with your pharmacist.
- Don't lend or share prescription drugs. What can help you might harm others.
- Don't take a medication in the dark.
- Avoid mixing medications and alcohol.
- Prescription drugs or phen375 diet pills can be effective but prescriptions diet pills can also cause some complications.
