Esidrix
Generic Name: Hydrochlorothiazide
Brand Name: Esidrix
Why Is HydroDIRUIL Prescribed?
Esidrix, or HydroDIRUIL is used to treat high blood pressure and other conditions that require excess water to be removed from the body. Some of the conditions that fall into this category include congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver, corticosteroid and estrogen therapy, and kidney disorders. When it is used to treat high blood pressure, HydroDIURIL can be used alone or in combination with other high blood pressure medications. It contains a form of thiazide, which is a diuretic that helps the body produce and discharge more urine. This in turn, helps lower blood pressure.
What Is the Most Important Thing to Know About HydroDIURIL?
If this medication is prescribed for high blood pressure, you must take it regularly in order for it to be effective. Because blood pressure decreases on a gradual basis, it may be several weeks before you notice the full benefit of the medication. Even if you are feeling well, you must continue to take HydroDIURIL. It is not a cure for high blood pressure, but it keeps it under control.
How Should HydroDIURIL Be Taken?
It should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Never take two doses at once, so if it is close to the next dose when you remember the missed dose, skip the one that was missed and return to the regular dosing schedule with your next dose.
