Etodolac:
Generic Name: The generic name of the medicine is etodolac. Etodolac belongs to the category of medicine called non-stereoidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and used to reduce pain, inflammation caused by many conditions including rheumatoid arthritis. This medicine can be used for other purposes also.
Precaution:
- If you are allergic to aspirin or any other NSAIDs, you should not take this medicine.
- If you have diabetes, liver problem or kidney disease, discuss with your doctor before taking the medicine.
- If you are suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure or ulcer, you should inform your doctor.
- If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, inform your doctor before taking the medicine.
- If you are breast-feeding. Inform your doctor before taking etodolac.
- If two drugs are taken together, they may interact with each other. If you are taking any prescribed or non-prescribed, food supplements or herbal medicine, you should inform your doctor before taking etodolac.

- Avoid alcohol, as it may increase the risk of stomach bleeding.
- Use sunscreen and protective clothing during peak hours.

Overdose:
- You should not use double dose at a time.
- The symptoms of overdose may vary from person to person.
- The symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, blurred vision, and difficulty in breathing.
- If you observe any of the symptoms or any other symptoms, you should contact to your doctor immediately.
Side Effects:
- If you feel any allergic reaction (difficulty in breathing, swelling in face, lip and throat), you should immediately contact to your doctor.
- The side effects may include stomach problems, ulcer, yellowness of skin and eyes, indigestion, heartburn and abdominal cramp. In case you observe such symptoms, you should contact to your doctor.
- The common less serious side effects of etodolac may include nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, weakness and headache.
- Some other side effects may also be observed. If you observe any of the symptoms as mentioned or any other symptom, you should talk to your doctor immediately.
How to take:
- Take etodolac only if prescribed by the doctor.
- Take the medicine with food or milk. Swallow the medicine as whole. Don’t cut or chew the medicine.
- If you have missed a dose, take as soon as you remember. If it is the time of your next dose, take a single dose. Do not take double dose.
How to store:
- The medicine should be stored at room temperature preferably below 30 degree centigrade and out of reach of children
- The etodolac should be kept away from excessive heat and moisture.
- Outdated medicines should not be used.
