Helidac Therapy: Benifits and Side Effects

What is Helidac Therapy?

For many years, those who suffered with ulcers believed that a combination of diet and stress contributed to stomach ulcers. Often, spicy foods were blamed for the presence of stomach ulcers. Those suffering these ulcers had to change their diets and avoid stress in hopes of finding some relief from ulcers. New scientific research has proven to doctors that a germ named Helicobacter pylori may actually be to blame when it come to stomach ulcers.

Helidac, a drug combination, can cure the infection that causes these painful and irritating stomach ulcers. Thanks to the new breakthroughs being made in medicine today, helidac therapy can alleviate the pain of stomach ulcers – so you can go back to enjoying the foods you love.

How to Use Helidac Therapy

Generally, Helidac is prescribed in pill form, in tablets and capsules. There are four pills in each dose of Helidac, taken orally by mouth. There are two pink tablets to chew and swallow, an orange and white capsule and a white tablet that should be swallowed whole. Your pharmacist will give you strict instructions about how to take Helidac based upon your doctor’s prescription. Take Helidac only as instructed by your physician and pharmacist.

You should drink eight full ounces (one glass) of fluid (water is best) with each and every dose of Helidac that you take. One hour prior to dosing, and for two hours after dosing, you should avoid all dairy products. Dairy products can interfere with the absorption of this medicine. Usually, Helidac is taken four times a day, once with each meal and once at bedtime. It’s important to take Helidac with food so as to avoid nausea and upset stomach.
