Individual dosage depends on your condition and tolerance/response to the drug. It may take up to two months of dosage in order for the full benefits of the drug to be noticed and realized. If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember as long as it is within 1-2 hours of the missed dose. If it is not skip the dose and take the prescribed amount at the next scheduled interval. Never double up on this medication as overdose may occur. Who Should(n't) Take If you have a history of diabetes, kidney problems, seizures, mental or emotional problems, brain disorders including strokes, ulcers, or allergies speak to your doctor to evaluate the risks of exasperating your current health conditions. One should use extreme caution when driving, operating heavy machinery, or doing any task which requires alertness as this drug may cause fatigue and dizziness. Alcohol consumption is not recommended as it may intensify these effects. If you are pregnant or wish to become pregnant this drug should not be used unless deemed seriously necessary. Nursing mothers should not use this drug as it can be passed from mother to infant and is considered harmful to infants in any dosage. Consult with your doctor if you are a mom or may be considering becoming one prior to the start of this medicine. Side Effects There have been some incidences of mild side effects. These include drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, confusion, headache, constipation, and diarrhea. If you experience one or more of these side effects and they persist for more than 3 days consult with your health care provider as this medication may not be for you. Other, more serious, side effects include mental or mood changes, seizures, radical vision changes, severe muscle stiffness, stomach pain, vomiting, painful urination, or trouble breathing. If any of these effects are noticed please speak to your doctor immediately. Although rare, there have been some cases of reported sever side effects including impotence, severe chest pain, black stools, fainting and a general feeling of uneasiness. If you experience any of these symptoms stop taking the medication and consult with your doctor right away. If you notice a side effect which is not listed please contact your physician right away. It may be serious however more often then not it is something mild which can be handled without an office visit by adjusting the dosage. Storage This drug should be stored at room temperature (optimal temp is considered to be between 59 and 86 degrees F. It should be kept away from heat and moisture and as such should not be stored in the bathroom. As with every drug it should be kept OUT OF THE REACH of children and pets as accidental poisoning or overdose may occur. |
