Elidel
What is Elidel?
Elidel is a cream that is used to treat eczema which is itching, red and tiny bumps on the skin. It can be used on anyone from infants to children and the elderly as well.
Important things to know before taking this medication.
If you are pregnant or might become pregnant while using this cream be sure to tell your doctor. If your skin become infected your doctor my also prescribe another cream to use along with this one for the infection. Do not share this cream with anyone even if they have the same symptoms as you.
How to take Elidel
Do not swallow this cream or use it in your nose or in your mouth it is not safe to use it in this places. Also be careful not to get the cream in your eyes if it dose get in your eyes if you accidentally get some in your eyes rinse it out right away with water. Do not use it on broken skin or on your breasts if you are breast feeding. Before you apply the cream be sure to wash any dry your hands, and apply a thin layer on the affected area. Use this cream as long a your doctor tells you too.
Side effects of this medication
The side effects of this medication are not harmful but if the become bothersome be sure to tell your doctor what can be done about them:
- Burning of the skin
- Itching
- Pain
- Flaky skin
How to store this medication
Store this medication in the carton it came in make sure the cap is closed tight so that the medication dose not dry up. Keep it in a cool dry place at room temperature. When it has been open do not use it for more than 12 months. Do not keep this medication in the bathroom or near a sink. Do not leave it in the car or near the window. Keep this medication away from children and animals and do not let it near water because it could ruin the medication if it becomes wet. If you see the medication has passed its expiration date do not use it and return it to your pharmacist.
