What is Citalopram?
Citalopram is a drug used to treat depression.
How to take Citalopram
Take this medication with ha full glass of water it may be taken with or without food. If it bothers your stomach it is best to take it with food. Be sure you take the right dose no more no less. Measure it with a dose measuring spoon or cup if you don’t have nay of those use a table spoon or ask your pharmacist for a cup or measuring spoon. If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule.
Side effects of this medication
Serious side effects that need immediate medical attention are:
- Chills/fever
- Low/high blood pressure
- Irregular heat beat/ pulse
Less serious side effects
- Dry mouth
- Nausea
- Impotence
- Difficulty having orgasms
Special warings
Do not stop taking this medication without talking to your doctor first. Be very careful when operating heavy machinery. Or doing any other dangerous activities also do not use alcohol with this meds.
Food and drug interactions
Do not take this medication if u are taking an MAOI or any of the following meds:
- Seizure meds
- Stomach meds
- Antibiotics
- Accolate
Overdose
Go to your local emergency room right away if you fell you have taken an over dose, symptoms of an overdose can be any of the following:
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Vomiting
- Tremor
- Rapid heart beat
- Sweating
How to store
Store this medication in a cool dry place away from light heat and mostiure.
