Latin description: Adropyron retens.

Parts to use: Rhizome.

Chemical constituents: Mannitol, vanillin glycoside, saponin, mucilage, potassium silica, iron, volatile oil, triticin, inositol.

Actions: Aperient, demulcent, diuretic, emollient, tonic.

Medicinal Uses & Benefits

Wound healer (silica content), osmotic diuretic, anti-inflammatory, blood cleanser.
Used for problems of the urinary system, infectious conditions of the bladder, tubule or prostate, and for urinary stones (reduces pain in urinary system).
